Roy McMillan & the High Country Boys' High Country was released in 1973 and is the debut recording for this fine band from North Carolina. The album contains twelve band originals, most written by McMillan (mandolin, lead vocals), with a couple instrumentals by High Country Boys Carl Joyner (fiddle)and Ray Edwards (banjo), as well as a vocal number written and sung by guitarist Grady Bullins. This is hardcore Carolina Bluegrass at its best!
